TYP RVLT Museum of Subversive Design is a project that celebrates the wide range of avant-garde, deconstructive, and subversive contributions to the history of typography and design. From the experimental, irrational typography of dadaism, to the anti-establishment DIY design of punk, the design world has (often hypocritically) benefitted monetarily from the breaks of tradition and innovation these movements offer. TYP RVLT is a unique opportunity to center the visual language of the subverse and recognize its indispensable offerings to society and local communities.
The design solution meshes analog and digital creative methods, in ways that honor historical methods of making (through Letraset, scanner, zine) alongside more contemporary softwares and techniques.
